THE CROSSING (2009)
The first realization of THE CROSSING was performed on Nov. 9, 2009 at 8 pm at Judson Memorial Church in NYC as part of Movement Research's Judson Church Fall 2009 series. Seven performers, including myself, paced through the rows and aisles of the seated audience, crossing the invisable boundaries dictated by the concept of personal space. The unchoreographed crossing of our paths created a random pattern of simple movement and bisected the space in unexpected ways. A diagram of Edward T. Hall's personal reaction bubbles (1966) by was projected onto the back wall throughout the performance.
